Optimiztiq Aka Alex McDonald born October 24, 1990. Born and raised in Placerville, CA. Alex was very inspired by music at a young age. It didn't take long
before music evolved from a hobby into a lifestyle. At the age of 13
Alex was introduced to the art of Freestyle. At that moment is when it
was apparent that he was ready to take it to the next step, going from a
heavy listener of music to a Freestyle Emcee. Although he was
embarrassed to reveal his interest to anyone, because he wasn't confident he
wasn't good enough to present it to any of his friends. After a year or
so passed (2004) he grew confident that his skills had reached a
comfortable level to spread to the public. This is when Optimiztiq &
Magik would go anywhere there was a crowd (Football games, concerts,
parties etc.) to practice these skills to try to establish a fan base. After
several weeks passed they grew a buzz in their hometown which was
only just the beginning. In 2004-2005 Optimiztiq composed and attempted
to record his first mixtape in the studio, which he shortly afterwords disposed of. In January of 2005 a tragic event caused him to truly
depend on his outlet of writing when his father suddenly passed away. At this
time he had already put together a decent studio at home with money
earned over the past year. He had also begun composing his own beats as
well as engineering his own first full length LP "It's A Smallz World"
(Released: May 2007). Only months after the CD released he met for the
first time with N*Raged (Of AMH) and started working on composing the
beats and engineering AMH's first full length LP "Slaughter Houze"
(Released: 2008). Not to much time passed before he started
working on his next album "The Birth Of Dialex" (Released: May 2008) which dropped around the same time as "Slaughter Houze". The name had
already circulated the town of Placerville, and Optimiztiq began to do
performances at local venues. Cozmic Cafe' became a common venue for Optimiztiq, Magik & AMH to perform at. 2009 Optimiztiq released
in full force his album "Double Or Nothin", which was a huge step in not
only skill, but recording quality as well. By the beginning of 2010 they
had managed to land shows in bigger venues, doing shows with artists such
as "Tech N9ne, Brotha Lynch, Kutt Calhoun, Krizz Kaliko, E-40, Twiztid,
Pot Luck, Critical Bill & Doomsday Productions. Optimiztiq just got the
pleasure to open up for Snoop Dogg! (Credit to: Quette Daddy, Dj Wilson
& Richard Lionheart). Optimiztiq Is currently working his upcoming
4th full Length LP "In2itive" to be released sometime in 2011. With the
single "I'm Optimiztiq" out now for purchase on Itunes.
